WHAT IS IT?
SAP’s Enterprise Integration Platform
SAP Integration Suite is the strategic replacement for SAP PI/PO (Process Integration / Process Orchestration) and all point-to-point custom integrations. It is a cloud-native iPaaS delivered on SAP BTP, combining several previously separate SAP products into one unified, subscription-based service.
🔄 PI/PO Migration — Why Now?
SAP has announced end-of-mainstream maintenance for SAP PI/PO. For any S/4HANA customer on a transformation journey, Integration Suite is not optional — it is the primary way SAP expects you to connect your systems. It enforces Clean Core at the integration layer: no more custom RFC calls, no more hidden point-to-point connections that break during upgrades. SAP provides a Migration Assessment tool that automates interface discovery and migration backlog prioritization.
ARCHITECTURE
Six Capabilities. One Platform.
Integration Suite connects SAP and non-SAP systems through six integrated capability layers — all managed from a single tenant on SAP BTP.

CAPABILITIES
The Six Capabilities of Integration Suite
Cloud Integration (CPI)
The core EAI engine — formerly SAP CPI. Design integration flows (iFlows) in a browser-based graphical editor. Handles message routing, transformation (XSLT, Groovy), protocol conversion (IDoc, SOAP, REST, SFTP, JDBC), and error handling. Hundreds of pre-built packages in SAP’s Integration Content Catalog.
API Management
Publish, secure, and govern APIs — both SAP and non-SAP. Provides an API portal, developer portal, rate limiting, OAuth policies, traffic analytics, and monetization. Every OData API from S/4HANA exposed externally should be managed and secured here — not exposed directly.
Event Mesh
A fully managed, cloud-native event broker enabling event-driven architecture (EDA). S/4HANA publishes business events (sales order created, goods movement posted) and BTP extensions or third-party systems consume them asynchronously — decoupling producers from consumers, eliminating synchronous polling.
Open Connectors
170+ pre-built connectors for non-SAP SaaS applications — Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday, Slack, Dropbox, and more. Open Connectors normalizes these APIs into a unified framework, so iFlows connect to non-SAP systems with the same patterns used for SAP systems.
Integration Advisor
Accelerates B2B integration — EDI (EDIFACT, ANSI X12), UN/CEFACT, and custom B2B message standards. Uses machine learning to propose message implementation guidelines and automatically generates runtime mapping artifacts for CPI. Ideal for supply chain and trading partner integrations.
Trading Partner Management
Centralized management of B2B trading partners, agreements, and communication channels. Defines the business context (partner profiles, agreement terms) that Integration Advisor uses to generate message mappings — keeping B2B integration governance separate from technical iFlow configuration.
KEY PATTERNS
Integration Patterns We Implement
🔄 PI/PO Migration to Integration Suite
The most common Integration Suite engagement. We inventory existing PI/PO interfaces, classify them by complexity and business criticality, and migrate them to CPI iFlows — preserving existing behavior while adopting modern BTP patterns. We use SAP’s Migration Assessment tool to automate discovery and prioritize the migration backlog.
⚡ Event-Driven S/4HANA Extensions
S/4HANA Cloud publishes business events via Event Mesh — over 200 standard events including material master changes, purchase order creation, and financial document posting. We design BTP extensions that consume these events asynchronously, triggering CAP or ABAP Cloud logic without any synchronous coupling to S/4HANA.
🌐 API-First Integration Design
We design your integration landscape API-first — every integration is an API product, documented in the API Management developer portal, versioned, and governed with rate limits and SLAs. This transforms your integration from a black box of iFlows into a visible, documented, and controllable API ecosystem.
📮 IDoc Modernization
IDoc-based integrations (EDI, legacy ERP-to-ERP) can be modernized without a full rewrite. We map existing IDoc message types to Integration Suite iFlows, convert them to OData or JSON where appropriate, and add proper error handling, retry logic, and monitoring dashboards — giving full visibility without replacing business processes.
OUR SERVICES
Integration Suite Consulting Services
🔍 Integration Landscape Assessment
We inventory your current integrations — PI/PO interfaces, custom RFCs, IDocs, and point-to-point connections — and produce a migration plan with effort estimates, risk assessment, and a phased roadmap using SAP’s Migration Assessment tool.
🔄 PI/PO to CPI Migration
End-to-end migration of existing PI/PO scenarios to Cloud Integration iFlows. We handle design, testing, parallel-run validation, and cutover — with a target-zero downtime approach for critical business integrations like order management and financial document posting.
🌐 API Management Implementation
Set up SAP API Management as your enterprise API gateway — publish S/4HANA OData APIs, apply security policies (OAuth 2.0, API keys, rate limiting), create a developer portal for internal and external consumers, and configure analytics dashboards for API usage monitoring.
⚡ Event-Driven Architecture Design
Design your event-driven extension architecture — map S/4HANA business events to Event Mesh topics, design consumer microservices in CAP or ABAP Cloud, and implement dead-letter handling, replay, and monitoring for production event flows.
📊 Integration Suite Governance
Establish development standards, naming conventions, error handling policies, and monitoring dashboards. We set up SAP Alert Notification Service, configure integration health dashboards, and define a CI/CD pipeline for iFlow deployment using SAP’s Integration Content Transport mechanism.
🎓 Training & Enablement
Hands-on Integration Suite workshops for your development team — iFlow design patterns, Groovy scripting, XSLT mapping, Event Mesh consumer development, and API Management configuration. Tailored to your team’s current skill level and your specific integration scenarios.
